Constructing IT Infrastructure — A Diary + Part I

TL;DR The cyberspace was aritficially transformed into a warzone to justify the current software monop0ly. If you want to be independent you are more or less a public enemy at the moment. However you should resist to regain freedom for our society.

This problem is solved and boring, right? Right?

Well so, everything is broken since building was ruined. But this is okay. We have to grow up and give up the thought that everything will be a service. I mean how many people pay for getting their arse wiped for example?

The truth is that computers became a place for violence. My hypothesis for the cause is that the largest corporations manufacture weapons and also have to make sure their is a need for their weapons. They thus create new battle fields and everything has to be attackable in certain ways.

Literally people are protected from certain groups of cybercriminals if they use certain tech. Then others are hidden influencers using tech officially to promote it and are then either also protected from the violence or get some extra cash as a reward for it.

I tried to escape that world for a year and everything was just dragging me back in. Whole Linux distributions or even the Kernels were breaking at some time. Security was lowered until it could be a new battlefield again. Companies were attacking themselves, very basic tech like python packages or PostgreSQL were breaking. It was insane.

But I know that does not have to be the case. As the attractor pulled more and more periphery into the same problem, open-source projects kept breaking such that now many companies have the same problem.

Their software does not work. It clearly shows the need for open source software and software as something that is best distributed open. The place at the moment is a little bit wrecked.

Everyone is eying for marketing opportunities and “outpacing” the competition. But open source is not a marketing tool. It is a necessary duty for society. Something like military service but focused on creating as opposed to destruction.

Thus the true way is probably companies working together on basic software projects they are using for their business to ensure the security and stability of the software.

With the war and the insane hunger for influence and power of large tech companies we are not doomed. We got a new chance!

No one wants to depend on these corporations and if you ask around most people secretly know they should not depend on these corporations. At the moment though most do not have a different chance and the companies make sure this stays the way.

Do not worry I am guilty of using their services, too. I do not reject everything they do. But it appears everything slipped out of control. Technology is not meant to enslave people. But this is what is happening at the moment.

Starting to construct some infrastructure

First I summarise what I learned and what I need now to construct my business. I hope you learn something from it too.

Summary of lessons

  • Do not trust fake open-source with commercial interest
  • Do not trust software from outside of your political system
  • Do not rely on large tech
  • Do not rely on law enforcement
  • Do not rely on court
  • Do not give up

List of necessary assets

  • Desktop distro office
  • Desktop distro development
  • Server distro for hosting services

Things to avoid

  • Unnecessary file sharing -> samba servers these kid of sorts
  • Too much cloud things especially for credentials
  • Not relying on containers -> too much work and lack of security
  • using too much emails -> very unsafe and unhealthy (yes psychically and physically form of communication)
  • Network printers
  • Too less printing (is not a contradiction + paper is a good persisting data storage)
  • Getting into negative thought spirals while under attack
  • Breaking a streak (1 minute is better than no minute)
